Paris is a celebration, especially in summer! During the warm season, the capital fills up with great deals and activities to make the most of the sunny weather with friends and family. And among the summer’s must-see events, the Parisian summer lineup features the Été du Canal, a waterborne festival that animates the quays of the Canal de l'Ourcq and the Canal Saint-Denis, as well as the Bassin de la Villette.
Good news, it’s back for seven themed weekends from June 27 to August 9, 2026, for a 19th edition that promises to be festive! There will be events on the water as well as on the quays, with floating concerts, outdoor dances, street art, cruises, workshops, or sporting activities, and all of it free or at a low price.
Each weekend is designed as an immersion in a different universe, with the return of events that have become unmissable. Des animations sur l'eau like the 1- or 2-euro river shuttles will let you enjoy a ride along the Canal de l'Ourcq, the Canal Saint-Denis, and up to the northern loop of the Seine, with stops at the lieux d'animations waiting along the quays.
Several guided cruises are also available: discovery cruises will teach you everything about street art, heritage, or gastronomy. The concept goes even further, as you’ll be able to enjoy artistic exhibitions or playful onboard workshops, or even a cinema screening dockside.
The floating concerts are back, with DJs, musicians and singers performing from the deck of a boat. Along the banks, a wildly enticing program awaits at Barboteur, at Prairie du Canal, at Oasis d'Oremi, at the 6b, on the Metaxu barge, at Lil'Ô, and at Jardin21.
Along the Ourcq Canal, many free recreation bases will let you take part in several water activities. Pedal boats, kayaks, zodiacs, inflatable structures, or paddleboards—you're spoiled for choice! Creative workshops and guided walks on foot, by bike, or by kayak will teach you more about the Île-de-France heritage.
