The Garden Festival returns to Paris on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, 2026 for two days of encounters and activities centered on Nature. Parks, squares, gardens and other green spaces warmly welcome visitors for free, with one goal in mind: to reveal the behind-the-scenes of Paris’s green spaces and the expertise of those who tend them.
Gardening workshops, repotting, plant identification, seed-related activities, guided tours and games allow a quick move from theory to practice. A program that lends itself particularly well to outings with children: you observe, you touch, you plant and you often leave with ideas you can try at home, even if you don't have a big garden.
The Garden Festival also offers a chance to talk about biodiversity, composting, organic-waste management and urban gardening. Activities vary by site and its unique features. It’s a reminder that Parisian nature isn’t limited to vast lawns: vegetable plots, ponds, trees, hedges and small cultivated patches all serve as entry points to understanding life.
In the 12th arrondissement, the House of Gardening and Composting is located right inside the Parc de Bercy. The venue is dedicated to urban gardening and offers, notably, a pedagogical vegetable garden, city-friendly practices, and various ways of gardening through the seasons.
For Garden Festival, you’ll learn to spot unusual plants, use your five senses to explore seeds, and adopt the right practices in the allotment. On Saturday, the lineup also puts urban composting in the spotlight. A two-hour stroll through the vegetable garden wraps up the day, with a fresh angle on plants and their uses for wellbeing.
