Nuit Blanche 2015: the North-East route

Published by · Published on September 30th, 2015 at 02:06 p.m.
This year, the Nuit Blanche 2015 invites artists to question the future of the environment, on two routes in the north of the capital. From the Gare du Nord to Aubervilliers, we discover 11 astonishing and disturbing works!

The Nuit Blanche 2015 is scheduled for this Saturday, October 3, 2015, starting at 7pm, in the north of the capital. From sunset, Parisians are invited to rediscover a part of the city and the greater Paris, through the presentation of places unknown to Parisians :

On the program of the Nuit Blanche on the North-East route:

Square Aristide-Cavaillé-Col, 5 rue de Belzunce, 75010 Paris
Néle Azevedo, Minimum Monument, 2009

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

On the occasion of the COP 21, Néle Azevedo invites us to leave a trace on the Parisian ground. All night long, we will be able to leave a small ice character, which will remain sitting on the stairs of the square Aristide-Cavaillé-Col, waiting for its own disappearance...

Parvis de la Gare du Nord, 75010 Paris
Leandro Erlich, Maison Fond, 2015

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

For this Nuit Blanche, Leandro Erlich proposes an alarmist vision of our future. What if, because of global warming, the architectural elements designed by man would disappear? Chilling? With a touch of (black) humor, the artist will melt a small building as the hours go by!

Bridge of the Rue de l'Aqueduc, 75018 Paris
Julius Popp, BIT FALL, 2015

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

What if water was flowing from the bridge of the Rue de l'Aqueduc? Poetic, this installation will reveal words, messages related to the future of the environment... You will have to be patient to read and understand them!

Former fire station Louis Blanc, at the intersection of rue Philippe de Girard and rue de l'Aqueduc, 75010 Paris
Zimoun, 250 prepared AC- Motors, 325 kg Roof Laths, 1,8 km Rope, 2015

Zimoun participates in the Nuit Blanche and takes us into a forest of wood. Hundreds of these laths will hit the ground, clash and slide, revealing a ballet and an acoustic symphony.

Ostermeyer Sports Center, 22 ter rue Pajol, 75018 Paris
Ann Veronica Janssens, Rose, 2007

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

For the Nuit Blanche, Ann Veronica Janssens presents a light sculpture, created for the Centre de Création Industrielle. When the 7 beams of light are revealed by an artificial mist, they form a star, a three-dimensional rose. Abstract and pure, this rose is a wink to the stars, which live only by the radiation they reflect!

Jardin Rosa-Luxemburg, 18 rue Pajol, 75018 Paris
Chris Salter, N_Polytope : behaviors in light and sound after Iannis Xenakis

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

Under the Halle Pajol, Chris Salter takes up the Polytopes of Iannis Xenakis, considered as the first experiments between sound, mathematics and architecture. 50 years later, a mass comes to life thanks to the combined action of sound and light, a spectacle for the eyes!

CentQuatre, 104 rue d'Aubervilliers, 75019 Paris
The 25th anniversary of Galleria Continua

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

For this Nuit Blanche, the exhibition of the 104 will stay open all night long, and for the occasion, Berlinde de Bruyckere and Anish Kapoor reveal us installations sometimes dreamlike, sometimes disturbing!

Tunnel of the Rosa Parks station, at the intersection of rue Curial and rue Gaston Tessier
Sinato + ARCHIEE +Izumi Okayasu, Spectrum, 2015

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

In the pedestrian tunnel of the Rosa Parks train station - exceptionally open for Nuit Blanche - the artists make appear wisps of mist that unfold, evolve and disappear.

Square Claude Bernard, 176 bv MacDonald, 75018 Paris
Encore Heureux, Extinction, 2015

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

The Encore Heureux Collective wishes to warn us about the 6th mass extinction of animal species. And since the message is having trouble getting through, the collection deploys over 100 flashing lights to form a luminous sign, like a last SOS!

The Linear Forest, Rue Emile Bollaert, 75019 Paris
Atelier Arpentère

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

For the first time, the linear forest imagined by Atelier Arpentère opens its doors to the public! This new place will be used as a pedestrian bridge to get to Aubervilliers, and already hosts more than 3000 trees that should reach maturity within 15 years... A very beautiful place to discover urgently!

Esplanade du Millénaire, allée Guy Debord, 93300 Aubervilliers
Félicie d'Estienne d'Orves and Julie Rousse, EXO, 2015

Nuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-EstNuit Blanche 2015 : le parcours Nord-Est

What if we could listen to the stars? Like the reading head of a disc, laser beams read the sky map - pointing successively to hundreds of celestial objects - and translate these astrophysical data into sound... Magical!

In addition, 18 OFF projects will be presented on the North-East route. We will soon reveal a selection of OFF projects todiscover from the Gare du Nord to Aubervilliers!
