For three days, from June 6 to 8, 2025, Rendez-vous aux Jardins invites us to discover Japanese-inspired green spaces, where stone shapes the landscape with finesse, between millennia-old symbols and miniature scenes.
In the Île-de-France region, a number of places, particularly Japanese gardens, reveal little-known treasures or deserve to be rediscovered in a new light. In Paris, the Musée Guimet opens the doors to its secret garden, featuring an authentic tea house (chashitsu) built according to Japanese traditions. Further west, the Musée Albert-Kahn offers a journey back in time through a Japanese village designed in the early 20th century, a living testimony to the dialogue between cultures. A few kilometers away, in Seine-et-Marne, private gardens such as those at Favières or Jardins de Juliette plunge us into an authentic Zen aesthetic, where every stone, gravel or lantern tells a story. And let's not forget the Château de Courances, whose Japanese garden is integrated into an 86-hectare park, a veritable mosaic of landscaping styles.
These bucolic get-togethers are also an opportunity to chat with passionate gardeners, landscapers and mediators, who share their insights into these poetic compositions. Participatory workshops, guided tours and children's activities punctuate these days dedicated to contemplation. It's the perfect opportunity for families, nature-lovers and the curious to explore the wealth of Japanese gardens in the Paris region.
