Désiré is a warm and friendly patisserie-chocolaterie nestled in the heart of a very family-friendly district of Paris. The colorful cakes on display are sure to arouse the appetite of young and old alike. And so much the better, because here, family comes first and passion goes with it!

Yes, Désiré is a pastry shop like almost none other. It's a family business run by the Rochette family. And while Désiré, which opened its doors in August, is only six months old, the Rochette family's passion for patisserie is nothing new. You could even say it's in their genes. Thierry the father is a pastry chef. So was his own father, Augustin. Mom Laurence's father was a baker. Son Antoine dabbles in both pastry and chocolate-making. His wife, Amandine, is also part of the adventure.
Together, they work hard to bring you products that are generally homemade - yes, even the viennoiseries- and combine their know-how with their creativity to create traditional pastries with a modern touch that makes all the difference. Here, we don't like overloaded compositions. We prefer to combine three elements to guarantee an optimal taste experience.
Their best-seller is their simple but effective lemon cake. However, there's another one that's well worth the detour: Célestin, a recipe from grandfather Augustin. It's a cake with orange, candied fruit and almonds.
As for pastries, originality is still the order of the day. Désiré, for example, suggests you try the Polonaise, a forgotten cake that they've managed to bring back up to date. It's a brioche filled with crème pâtissière and candied fruit, all coated with Italian almond meringue. Another pastry that's sure to catch your eye is confetti. This is a creation of Thierry's father: a pistachio mousseline surrounding a pistachio crumble, topped with amarina cherries and resting on a macaroon cookie. As for son Antoine, he draws inspiration from Alain Passard 's savoir-faire to design his pom'chou tart, an eye-catching apple tart!

As for the chocolate, it's worth noting that Désiré uses only pure cocoa butter to create them. Their homemade bars, of course, will definitely feed your chocolate addiction. For the little ones (and the big kids), Désiré offers its mushroom-shaped meringues dipped in chocolate. But that's not the only gourmet surprise in store.

Désiré also makes his own jams. It's also worth noting that, while not everything is homemade, the Rochettes make it a point of honor to work only with small-scale artisans. In their calissons, for example, you'll discover someone else's expertise, the quality of which Désiré guarantees. What's more, here we like to work only with good produce, and seasonal produce whenever possible. With the exception of raspberries, which our customers find hard to do without.
