Macaroons, flans, tarts... but in a vegetable version! This is what VG Pâtisserie offers, revisiting the classics of traditional French pastry without milk or eggs, and it is worth the detour!

On Boulevard Voltaire, you can find the first vegan pastry shop in Paris, an address not to be missed by vegans and gourmands who pass by. Because it is not because it is vegan, that it is less good, quite the contrary! At VG Pâtisserie, the chef Bérénice Leconte offers tasty croissants, macaroons, flans and other typically French pastries without animal ingredients, thanks to demanding techniques that have been worked on for years to give a result similar to traditional cakes.

Many vegans, lactose or egg intolerant people had given up on the idea of being able to enjoy these incredible pastries. But now it's possible! Here, even the puffs are vegetable, thanks to the talented chef of VG Pâtisserie, whose recipe can be found in her book"Mon petit chou vegan". In front of all the cakes presented, it is difficult to make a choice, between the lemon-ginger tartlet, the Trianon (chocolate and praline), the Limba (lemon and pineapple), the Arabella (figs and cardamom) or the coconut-mint-passion baba...

For our part, we opted for a delicate blackberry-violet macaroon, very light and airy in the mouth, particularly tasty thanks to its floral and fruity taste.

It was difficult to decide between the hazelnut cake and the marble cake, but the latter, vanilla-chocolate flavour, won the race. An excellent choice, the thickness of the cake did not detract from its softness. The Trianon, with its dark chocolate, attracts by its neat appearance. A little fatter than the rest, it is nonetheless very good.

All this at a very affordable price, which doesn't really change from traditional pastries, from a croissant at 1,15€ to the Trianon at 5,50€. You can order them to arrive directly at your home, or come and taste them in the welcoming tea room. Local suppliers, organic raw materials, waste reduction, VG Pâtisserie keeps its promises to respect the living, from A to Z! So, let's give it a try!
