Do you love hidden cafés , where you can relax with your computer while sipping hot or iced tea, or a good cup of coffee accompanied by a cinnamon brioche? Let's head to the courtyard of the Institut Suédois in the Marais to discover the brand-new Café Fika Paris, which pre-opened last June and is now celebrating its inauguration with a wealth of sweet treats and dishes to be enjoyed throughout the day.
For the record, fika in Sweden is the little snack you can have all day long, the gourmet break you can treat yourself to up to 7 times a day. So it's only natural that coffee should adopt this name, since it allows us to indulge at any time of day.
At the helm of the café are Caroline and Damien, who have been organizing culinary events with Swedish chefs for the past 10 years. Having fallen in love with the country, which they have visited to discover its gastronomy and culture, they decided to launch this Swedish café project, where they will blend classic Swedish cuisine and patisserie in their own way, always with greed and creativity.
On arrival, the atmosphere is relaxed and the setting bright. A counter with pretty sweets faces us, and we discover a pretty terrace and an indoor room where a few people in coworking mode work while sipping a coffee.
A la carte :
The spot offers toast, cranberry dumplings, hot sandwiches, a savory tart, soup of the day and seasonal salads. Sweet treats include Kannelbulle andother chocolate babkas, chokladbollars, gluten-free Kokos and other unpronounceable Swedish specialties. A particular favorite is the zucchini version of Zucchini cake, reminiscent of the texture of carrot cakes.
As for drinks, we offer hot and icedteas and coffees, fresh juices, beers and wines by the glass. Lykke Kaffegârdar, which supplies the tea and coffee, is a responsible company that grows, produces and roasts its coffee in an ecological and environmentally-friendly way. It has to be said that coffee in Sweden (the world's second largest consumer) is sacred!
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, and in afterwork mode on Thursdays and Fridays until 9pm. If you're coming to eat Swedish food, take the opportunity to discover the current exhibition and, why not, relax in the garden in chill mode - access is free for all.
