10 years ago, the Mairie de Paris launched a general appeal to the Parisian population to prove that it was still possible to enjoy a good €1 coffee in the capital's establishments. 10 years later, the interactive, participatory map is still up and running, with Parisians themselves adding to it as the months go by.
The idea is as follows: Parisians, tourists and passers-by are invited to visit the Paris City Hall website and provide information aboutbars, brasseries, cafés, pubs and other restaurants in the capitalwhere you can drink a coffee for €1— coffee machines are obviously not included!
So, are there any Parisian establishments that are still resisting the invader? Whether you're sitting inside, at the counter, on the terrace, or taking it to go, it's now not uncommon for espresso and long coffee to cost well over €2 in Paris. Fortunately, some bars and restaurants are not playing along with inflation and are siding with your wallet!
A way of reliving the Paris of yesteryear, so to speak. Discover without further delay the interactive and participative map of places where to drink a coffee for 1€ in Paris:
