Nestled between the Saint-Ouen flea market and Place Jules Joffrin, in the north of Paris, an 18th arrondissement hotel has been given a floor-to-ceiling makeover, becoming theHôtel Dalila. Behind the transformation isarchitect Giovanna de Bosredon, founder ofAuguri Studio, who has signed her first solo contract.
"Bringing Paris into the hotel: that's the common thread running through the project. By playing with codes, multiplying references to the exterior and drawing on the palette of the neighborhood - oranges, reds, greens. The result is an assertive yet warm minimalism that comes alive with color," says the architect.
The result is a warm, minimalist hotel with 49 rooms, spread over 7 floors and sprinkled with vintage touches found at the aforementioned flea markets - old posters and illustrations, furniture, accessories and lamps. The large living room on the first floor, which serves breakfast for hotel guests and becomes a coworking space during the day, features geometric motifs taken from Paris squares, seating inspired by public benches, a planted glass roof and a long zinc bar like those found in the capital's old bistros.
A typically Parisian hotel, with views from some rooms of the Butte Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur!
