Yaai Thaï is the new Thai canteen to try on Grands Boulevards. Open in late August 2018, a few meters from Le Grand Rex, Yaai Thaï has already conquered the neighborhood. It’s simple, in a few seconds you are in Bangkok, thanks to the bamboo décor, the colorful tables and the mouthwatering smell from the kitchen.

New Thai restaurant in Paris, Yaai Thaï is a canteen you have to try. You can’t miss it so much the décor stands out on the boulevard with the wicker baskets on the ceiling, the colorful tables and the crowded terrace at lunchtime!

Pad Thai, lemongrass beef, papaya salad, vegetable and taro spring rolls, satay skewers, tom Yam (soup flavored with lemongrass), sticky rice with mango and coconut milk banana, the restaurant provides over 35 food classics served like in Bangkok.

It’s normal since in the kitchen, Thai chef Jay concocts dishes with her team. And she knows how to select ingredients and get them!

Yaai Thai is Mamie Burger founder Matthieu Soliveres’ latest project. By the way, Yāy (or ยาย) means grandma (or Mamie in French) in Thai! Yes, after burgers, Matthieu Soliveres wants to put traditional Thai cuisine in the heart of the daily life in Paris, starting with a gustative and visual experience.

For the opening of this first Thai canteen, Matthieu Soliveres spend months visiting Bangkok markets, looking for furniture and décor items, as well as for the best produces such as spices that he imported. But to him, the most important part is to bring a good price/quality ratio.

At lunch, you can eat for €20 including a starter and a main course or a main course and a dessert with nice dishes. At Yaai Thaï, the service is warm, dishes delicious and the décor takes part in the beautiful experience.

Honorable mention for the starter assortment for €15 and for two, enabling us to taste marinated chicken skewers, vegetable spring rolls, gyozas, pork balls (careful, there are 2 portions of each dim sum) and pintos (Indian bowls on several stories) to fill with traditional dishes.
