Immediate boarding for Brazil without even leaving Paris! To take advantage of this good plan, head for Boteco Vila Mada, the excellent Brazilian tapas and cocktail bar in the 9th arrondissement.

Tapioca cubes, matured beef picanha, pastéis de queijo, bolinho de bacalhau and of course caipirinhas in all their forms... since the opening of Boteco, a very pleasant Brazilian wind has been blowing in the capital.

Behind this gourmet and sunny concept, we find the Franco-Brazilian duo Nicolas Delauche and Ricardo Lopes. Together, they brought the Brazilian atmosphere and gastronomy to the capital by opening, in 2017, Boteco Lapa, in the 10th arrondissement. And it didn't take long for Parisians to make this spot their HQ, so much so that the two acolytes inaugurated, a year later, Boteco Vila Mada.

For this second Brazilian tapas bar, opened this time in the 9th arrondissement, Nicolas and Ricardo plunge us into the Vila Madalena district of São Paulo, between raw and vegetal decor. In summer, the establishment welcomes its customers on the terrace. Thanks to the extension of the Parisian terraces authorized by the City, Boteco Vila Mada benefits from a nice terrace in the middle of Trudaine avenue. And you would be wrong not to take advantage of it!

Once comfortably installed, it's time to travel with a menu filled with colorful tapas and specialties to share that make you salivate just by reading them.

If the homemade guacamole is a sensation that evening, we turn to the delicious white bean hummus for more originality accompanied by manioc chips. We also fall for the unavoidable and crunchy pastel de queijo with cheese. Mastered recipes that inevitably invite us to the other side of the Atlantic for a very exotic trip.

We continue with the octopus salad (rather firm) decorated with potatoes and pomegranate.

For the continuation, we can only advise you to crack for the Bolinho de bacalhau; the delicious and traditional codfish accras and its aioli sauce. A great success! If you prefer meat, then go for the Coxinha de Frango (beautiful croquettes of shredded chicken) or the Picanha Fatiada (thin slices of beef picanha matured and just seared with a virgin sauce) which are really worth the detour.

Another favorite with a classic here too: the diced tapioca with cheese roasted with raw ham and biquinho pepper. Simple and effective!

Not only greedy, the plates are also very generous so do not hesitate to share them for even more conviviality.

And to accompany these delicious specialities, what could be better than clever drinks, all made with cachaça, the national alcohol. The establishment has produced its own handcrafted cachaça Gaya, which it uses in its cocktails.

On the menu? The emblematic caipirinha offered in all its forms. Discover the Mulata (cachaça infused with tonka bean, passion fruit and bitter cocoa syrup), the Caipi-Mate (cachaça, iced mate, lemon juice and rosemary lemon) or the Caipi with watermelon juice and ginger syrup.

If you prefer signature cocktails, Boteco also has something to surprise you with the highly acclaimed Punch Carioca (cachaça, yellow lemon, white crème de cacao, mint, egg white and Proseco) and the very gourmet Coco Lulu (tonka bean infused cachaça, coconut puree, bitter cocoa syrup and toasted coconut), ideal to end the evening.

After that, all you have to do is close your eyes and imagine yourself on Paulista Avenue or in Ibirapuera Park!

Boteco Vila Mada has undoubtedly become one of the most famous tapas bars in the 9th arrondissement of Paris for its atmosphere but also for its Brazilian specialties. And if you live in the East of Paris, good news since the fine team has opened a third establishment in the capital. Boteco Comptoir is the last of the siblings, opened in early 2020.
