In Paris, the Louxor Bar keeps the screening going atop the Louxor Cinema. In Barbès, this spot blends Egyptian decor, inspired cocktails and seasonal cuisine. With its view of the Sacré-Cœur, the film continues… on the bar side.

In Barbès, there are the dark rooms… and then there’s this bar that makes the movie linger long after the credits. Perched on the third floor of the Cinéma Le Louxor, the Bar du Louxor reveals itself without a ticket, like a well-guarded secret above Barbès. From the moment you enter, the Egyptian-inspired decor—which has been the venue’s signature since 1921—sets the scene: here, the cinema spills over into the glass.

Rescued from neglect and restored in 2013, the Louxor stands today as one of the last historic Parisian cinemas. And its bar is the natural, lively, and accessible extension. At the helm, Loan Charles crafts a straightforward, well-thought-out menu: boards and spreads to share, a daily special at 12€ that changes regularly, and house desserts (cookies, fondant, tiramisu). Plus, as a bonus, there are film-themed nods on the menu—dorayaki for a Shohei Imamura work—and special recipes tailored to the program.

On the drinks side, the menu keeps it simple: draft beers, ciders, house-made and organic concoctions, plus a carefully curated wine list. The cocktails, crafted by mixologist Bre, also move to the beat of the films, with signature creations and nods to cinema, like the Martini Supreme or the Chunking Espresso.

The real highlight remains the terrace: about thirty seats, open to everyone including wheelchair users, with a view of the Sacré-Cœur. A separate space, perched above Barbès, ideal for a drink aloft.

Open from Monday to Saturday in the evenings, and Sundays from the afternoon, the Bar du Louxor also hosts events year-round: DJ sets, César Awards broadcasts, and special nights. A place where people come as much for a drink as to extend the cinema experience.
