Want to elevate your summer experience? Head to Paris's 9th arrondissement, where La Douce Heure has just landed on the rooftop terrace of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. Perched on the 8th floor of the iconic department store, this summer pop-up bar bets on elderflower cocktails, scented ice creams, and a tapas menu by Cyril Lignac, served daily from noon until August 31, 2026.
We all know the Galeries Lafayette rooftop, one of the capital’s best free viewpoints, which we’ve already highlighted in our dedicated feature. This summer, it’s dressed in fresh, bright colors inspired by the Southern French art of living.
Sun loungers to soak up the sun, the golden hour glow, and an unrivaled panorama of the capital: from the terrace, you can take in the Opéra Garnier, the Tour Eiffel, and the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur with a single glance. A postcard-worthy backdrop for sipping a spritz à la fleur de sureau, the venue’s flagship cocktail—cool, floral, and as relaxed as a summer evening on the Côte d'Azur.
On the indulgent side, it’s Chef Cyril Lignac who pulls the strings. Inspired by the easygoing charm of the South of France, where he loves to recharge, the chef has crafted three exclusive assiettes à partager available daily from noon.
On the menu: Florale, with its crudités and tzatzíki sauce, Fraîcheur, which brings together a sea bream crudo with elderflower, mimosa eggs with vitello sauce, and a watermelon–feta duo, and finally Douceur, a Tropezienne served with a verbena-peach salad and an elderflower ice cream. Hard to choose, so why not try them all?
Practically speaking, La Douce Heure welcomes you daily from noon to midnight, through August 31, 2026. Access is via the 25 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin, in the 9th arrondissement, before heading up to the 8th floor of the department store. We recommend aiming for late afternoon, when the sun sinks over the Haussmannian rooftops: that’s when the place truly comes into its own.
This temporary terrace is designed for Parisians seeking a new spot for an after-work drink as well as for passing travelers who want to mix shopping, views, and a refreshing break. Note that on the food side, the tapas are still quite small—it's not a full meal. Remember that excessive alcohol consumption is dangerous to your health, so enjoy responsibly. Non-alcoholic options and ice cream are available, allowing you to savor the venue without drinking.
And if you’re into high-altitude spots, stay tuned to discover Balcon, Julien Sebbag’s rooftop bistro perched atop the Galeries Lafayette, or dive into our guide to the must-visit rooftops in Paris and Île-de-France in 2026 to keep the summer going with a view.
