Cédric Grolet opens his bakery-patisserie in the Opéra neighborhood in Paris

Cédric Grolet opens his bakery-patisserie in the Opéra neighborhood in Paris! Yes, you read right, the pastry chef has decided to launch his very own bakery while still working with Le Meurice. Said to open in 2019.

This is THE news of this late summer: Cédric Grolet will have his bakery-patisserie in the Opera neighborhood.

At 33, the pastry chef has decided to fly the nest while keeping his place as Le Meurice pastry chef after improving the art of the fruits in the kitchen of the Parisian palace. He told us about wanting to develop other personal projects when we interviewed him in June 2018 and the project is coming to life!

He’s now coming to Avenue de l’Opéra, at a location known for having housed Casse-Noisette (Jeffrey Cagnes’s patisserie). The place is ideally set and owns a floor, perfect for a tearoom corner! Inside, we’re told to find pastries and viennoiseries.

Spotted on Instagram, the pictures seem to be tests for viennoiseries and small cakes said to be sold in this bakery.

We’re looking forward to discovering the address and new treats, different from the successful jewel-desserts available at Cedric Grolet’s Le Meurice store.
