Elan café, London's famous pink tea room in Paris, at Galeries Lafayette

We told you about Pinky Bloom and Le Jardin de Mademoiselle, two spots with ultra-girly powder-pink decor dedicated to gourmet delights. The pioneer of the genre, El&n café, has decided to open in Paris this September 14, 2021, in the new shoe area of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, with a hot space. So we headed to the 4th floor of the Galeries to discover the UK version of the girly coffee shop!

There's no denying it, the tea room is very well located, big and bright, with a view over the rooftops! The decor is beautiful, with its flowers and copper accessories (a must-shop, by the way).

The menu at Elan café Paris is large, in four pages with photos of dozens of"Instagrammable" drinks... Lattes with toppings, cocktails, smoothies with seasonal fruit, everything to take photos (and enjoy?).

We hesitated for a long time before trying the red velvet cake latte, a vase of beet syrup and melted chocolate chips, at 9.5 euros, and the rose spanish, a talle made from condensed milk with rose water, at 9.5 euros... the verdict is simple: these drinks are greedy, very greedy, we can't finish this glass. This will appeal more to little girls, and we'll fall back on the fruit juice. We'll find out later that they make Turkish coffee, maple syrup lattes, nutella hot chocolate and Turkish delight hot chocolates, so we'll be back to try them out!

To accompany these drinks, gourmet brunch dishes that will blow your mind. Eggs Benedict-style creme, of course, mac&cheese, pancakes, nutella French toast, brownie, pastries and slices of cake by the slice. We're tempted by the French toast, the strawberry tartlet and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is really creamy and tasty, and the strawberry tartelette is easy to bite into, with its smooth cream and French toast.... It's been a long time since we've had such a tasty, gourmet meal for 13 euros. It's a very pleasant surprise for this place, which offers very good products in a powder-pink tea room.
