Borgo Delle Tovaglie, Italian store, restaurant and hidden terrace

Tasty made in Italy produces and a beautiful patio hidden from everyone… We’ve found a small Italian bistro in Paris 11th arrondissement that will meet all your needs. And even your shopping needs since Borgo Delle Tovaglie is an Italian store too where you can buy loads of pretty things!

We go to Borgo Delle Tovaglie to buy lovely bed linens, a nice lampshade or to… taste the pleasures of Italian gastronomy.

This huge former rubber factory that has been turned into a concept-store offers indeed everything your dreams are made of to spend a great shopping afternoon filled with treats: a home décor corner and objects of all kinds; and a restaurant area that unravels a secret very-well kept by regulars: a beautiful patio.

On the menu of this Italian bistro, we enjoy quality produces that are made in Italy. As a starter, we choose between 8 offers among which the pane carasau mille-feuilles with Parma ham and Mozzarella di Buffala (€15), the assortment of plain and smoked Burratine (€18), the Culatello Stracciatella and Tigelle from Bologna (€16); the Salami Strolghino with artisanal taralli (€16) and the beautiful Borgo board with its cold cuts and Italian cheeses mix with pan tigella (€14/€25).

We go for the beautiful 250-g (!) Mozzarella di Buffala Campana as creamy as it should be (€17) and the Friselle Pugliesi (€12), which are surprising crispy breads that look like twice-baked breads and covered in cherry tomatoes, black olives and Parmigiano Reggiano.

We continue our gustative stay in Italy with a tasty eggplant gratin Parmigiana di Melanzane” topped with fresh stracciatella (€20) and a black-truffled risotto (€30), super flavored.

And yet we hesitated a long time with the ricotta and burrata tortellini served with tomato sauce and savory ricotta (€20); the Mezze Maniche with basil, Pecorino cheese and garlic-flavored bread crumb pesto (€16) or the Spaghetti Carbonara with Pecorino Romano and smoked pork belly (€16). But we’ve haven’t been disappointed by our orders!

We wrap up this meal filled with flavors at the same time as the patio closes (9:30 p.m.!) with a slice of strawberry tart and a homemade tiramisu!
