Oursin by Jacquemus and Caviar Kaspia at Champs-Elysées Galeries Lafayette

If we already miss sunny days, here’s a good tip to make summer last a little longer in your head, heart and mouth: go and discover Champs-Elysées Galeries Lafayette new restaurant.

Named Oursin, this new spot has been entirely created by designer Simon Porte Jacquemus who already opened Café Citron in the very same Galeries.

Nestled on the second floor of Champs-Elysées Galeries Lafayette, Oursin looks like – in the shapes and design – one of those white houses sparkling along the Mediterranean coast.

Whitewashed walls and carved by small niches where proudly sit artisanal objects bargain-hunted by Simon Porte Jacquemus, climbing vine and plates that nods to the South: Jacquemus’ universe filters this restaurant.

On the menu, we have sea-inspired dishes and seafood with Mediterranean flavors created by Erica Archambault (who worked at Septime) and staged by Groupe Caviar Kaspia team: sea urchin taramasalata, clam linguine and Sicilian salsa, red mullet escabeche, flounder cooked on the bone, pasta with summer vegetable and mashed potatoes with cameline oil, Baeri caviar and whipped cream.

And for these sunny plates, bakery Sain d’Anthony Courteille has created special breads such as the one with squid ink and sea urchin tongue.
