Caution, mountain cows are coming to Paris! The day before the opening of the International Agricultural Show, on Friday February 22, bovines take over the Parc des Buttes Chaumont for the afternoon!
On the menu, animals and their farmers coming from the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Massif Central, Corsica and the Vosges. It's the occasion for you to share a festive moment and to experience a one-of-a-king transhumance, this yearly event dear to farms' hearts.
You'll attend a parade including about fifty animals decorated according to the local traditions. Musical entertainments and farm cheese tasting held on the terrace of Rosa Bonheur also expect you. It would be the perfect time to talk and share with farmers.
Organized in partnership with the Interprofession Elevage et Viande [Breeding and Meat Association] and the Coram [Massif Local Breeds Group], this event will be the occasion to discover unique breeds, we can only find in mountain regions. French mountains are the original birthplace of most bovines and ovines no matter if they are dairy or nursing.
Here’s the program for the afternoon:
Then, you'll have to go to the International Agricultural show to find animals and their farmers.
Here’s an atypical parade likely to please children and adults!
