At the end of 2016,the Paris City Council first voted to open a completely free naturist zone in the Bois de Vincennes. Thus, Paris' first naturist area was born. For this sixth season, Parisians for a day and all their lives have been able to enjoy the sun in the simplest of garb since Saturday, April 15, 2023.
Want to feel free from the constraints of clothing? There's nothing unhealthy about naturism. Naturists (of whom there are more than 2 million in France) advocate a return to the natural state: "a way of living in harmony with nature, characterized by the practice of nudity in community, with the aim of promoting self-respect, respect for others and respect for the environment", says the International Naturist Federation.
The 7,000 m2 site, just a stone's throw from the ornithological reserve in the clearing between allée Royale and route Dauphine, will be open until October 12, 2025.
The area is protected from curious onlookers by signposts. To ensure the peace and quiet of the area's users, a charter is posted"so that walkers and joggers are warned", explains Julien Claudé-Pénégry, of the Association des naturistes de Paris. But note that there are no restrictions: naturists and textiles can mix freely.
Urban naturism is developing in France and in Paris, and offers those interested the opportunity to take part in naturist activities in a supervised environment. In Paris, for example, nude bathing is available at the Roger Le Gall municipal pool (12th arrondissement), which runs three times a week, not far from the naturist zone in the Bois de Vincennes.
