Have you heard about Piano Day? Created six years ago by composer and pianist Nils Frahm, the goal is simple: For one day - on March 29 - piano lovers are gathered for a day focusing on this instrument in all its shapes. So, why March 29 you may wonder… Simply because it’s been exactly 88 days since the year started and it is the number of keys on a piano.
To honor Piano Day, ARTE Concert and Sourdoreille Production have chosen to take over the magnificent Théâtre de l'Epée de Bois at the Cartoucherie de Vincennes on March 29, 2021 to provide you with a 100% piano night to stream live.
Moving on to the lineup, the different spaces of the Théâtre will welcome live performances by Alexandre Kantorow, Sofiane Pamart, Macha Gharibian, Etienne Jaumet & Fabrizio Rat, and last but not least Françoiz Breut & Marc Melià.
For the record, last year, Piano Day welcomed Francesco Tristano, Vanessa Wagner, Arthur H, and even Shannon Wright and Laake at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
Note that all those performances have been recorded, and will stream on March 29 at ARTE Concert.
