Back in 2011, Pitchfork Music Festival Paris was held for the very first time in the French capital. For those who have never heard of it, in just fifteen years, Pitchfork became a true institution. The webzine used to be a free platform for independent rock fans but in no time, it specialized in pop, rock, folk, electro, jazz and hip-hop music with the same special care for underground. It is now a true reference.
In 2006, the webzine organizes its first festival at Chicago’s Union Park. Five years later, the festival has good news: Pitchfork Music Festival is coming to France, in Paris at La Grande Halle de la Villette. In 2011, Bon Iver, Aphex Twin, Washed Out, Real Estate, Wild Beasts, Lykke Li and Jens Lekman inaugurated this first edition.
With the success of the past editions, Pitchfork Music Festival Paris has decided to renew the experience so that a new edition will be held from Tuesday November 16 to Sunday 21, 2021.
This year, Pitchfork Paris changes and leaves the Grande Halle de la Villette, taken over for 9 editions, to invest 10 venues in town. Meet at Salle Pleyel, Gaîté Lyrique, Bataclan, Saint-Eustache Church, for 5 nights of exclusive concerts. And also head to the Bastille area on November 19 and 20 for Pitchfork Avant-Garde making you discover 17 artists per night on the stages of Café de la Danse, Badaboum, Supersonic Records, PopUp, Disquaires, and Supersonic.
As for the lineup, Pitchfork Music Festival Paris 2021 promises diversity and quality with Bobby Gillespie & Jehnny Beth, Sébastien Tellier, Shygirl, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Sons of Kemet, and Nubya Garcia.
