Theexhibition"The World of Steve McCurry" presents a retrospective of photographs by the celebrated contemporary American photographer Steve McCurry, from December 9, 2021 to July 31, 2022, at the Musée Maillol. The exhibition features over 150 large-format prints, for the first time in Paris. Many of these are world-famous, including"The Green-Eyed Girl from Afghanistan".
Initially, the exhibition was due to end on May 29. Given the enthusiasm of visitors, the Musée Maillol has decided to extend the exhibition until the end of July 2022. So you still have several weeks to discover or rediscover this wonderful exhibition.
The exhibition, designed by Biba Giacchetti, is the largest and most comprehensive dedicated to the great American photographer and his forty-year career. It also includes his most recent images, as well as many never-before-seen photographs.
His work , which takes us ona journey to the heart of the human and the otherworldly, plunges us into the heart of conflicts, disappearing cultures and contemporary events such as September 11, 2001. His exotic photographs reveal a complex universe of experiences and emotions, from Afghanistan to India, from Southeast Asia to Africa, from Cuba to the United States, from Brazil to Italy.
