Contemporary art takes center stage at the Musée Eugène Delacroix during the week of Art Basel Paris 2025. This year, from October 22 to November 2, 2025, artist Nate Lowman explores Delacroix's legacy in a new exhibition.

The Musée Eugène Delacroix is, as its name suggests, dedicated to the Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix. However, this little-known museum doesn't just exhibit works by the 19th-century French artist. Every year, during the International Contemporary Art Fair in autumn, the Musée Delacroix welcomes young artists from all over the world.

This year, from October 22 to November 2, 2025, the spotlight is on artist Nate Lowman. As part of the"hors les murs" program at Art Basel Paris, the American artist plunges us not only into his own world, but also that of Delacroix, whose influence is explored in an exhibition.

Nate Lowman unveils a range of paintings and sculptures that revealDelacroix's legacy. Several generations of artists have been inspired by the Romantic painter: Nate Lowman pays tribute to his predecessor in an exhibition full of surprises.

By bringing together a wide variety of works, the American artist aims to bring Delacroix's work back to life. The French painter is the common thread running through the exhibition, linking together a wide variety of creations from different countries and eras.

For the past four years, the Art Basel Paris fair has been showcasing French and international contemporary artists, not only through its major exhibition at the Grand Palais, but also through exhibitions, installations and performances that transform Paris into an open-air museum. The event's off-site programming takes us to the Musée Delacroix, the courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine, the Palais d'Iéna, the Institut de France...

Art Basel Paris is a real celebration of contemporary art! Take advantage of every cultural event during these few days. At the Musée Delacroix, the exhibition is accessible with a regular admission ticket to the museum, and it's free for those with a ticket to Art Basel Paris. Don't miss this unique, ephemeral exhibition!
