Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine is a city that is increasingly popular with families: located north of Paris, it is not only well served by transportation but also very pleasant to live in. So, for some time now, the family side of Saint-Ouen has been developing: kid-friendly places, new day-care centers, but above all, places to take the kids, with activities planned for them, like Le cube à roulettes!
Le cube à roulettes is the project ofÉlisabeth, former toy store manager in the 17th arrondissement and mother of three children. Since April 2022, she has opened the store she dreamed of: an independent game store with products she selects herself, but also, creative workshops for toddlers and children, as well as privatizations for birthdays.
Knitting workshop, Lego board creation, paper flower bouquets, dynamic readings... Elisabeth publishes the schedule of the month's workshops directly on the rolling cube 's Instagram account, and for each of them, she likes to put recycling at the center of the workshop, to raise awareness of the cause among the youngest too. "The idea was to differentiate ourselves from a classic store, offering workshops for children and privatizations for birthdays," explains the manager of the place.
For toddlers from 12 months to 3 years old, the baby workshops take place mostly during the week, in the morning, so that nannies can also bring them. For the older children, it is on Saturday morning. Moreover, Elisabeth advises (strongly) to take advantage of the kid-friendly brunch at the Social Bar in Saint-Ouen, offered on Saturdays and Sundays, for a really nice day out with the family, even with little ones. As for the prices, the workshops (one hour each) are 10 € per child and you get a free session if you take a loyalty card of ten workshops.
The Cube on Wheels is also the place to celebrate your child's birthday. For 250 €, you privatize the store for 2h30, Elisabeth makes an animation on the theme that the child chooses, the cake is made by a pastry chef from Saint-Ouen and there are also drinks and decoration included. Then, let's go to the basement of the store for the kids' party, with disco ball and loud music! The cube on wheels welcomes a maximum of eight children for a birthday party and the parents can enjoy 2h30 of tranquility while the children have fun.
