The Monnaie de Paris is offering a special program for the Christmas holidays, including immersive guided tours and creative workshops for the whole family. This is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of coin production and create your own coin, from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

Looking for an idea for a family outingduring theChristmas holidays? Head to theMonnaie de Paris to discover a wide range of activities in the 6th arrondissement. The institution invites young and old alike to explore the world of coin creation through workshops and guided tours specially designed for young audiences, accessible from age 5 and available from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

To fully experience the Christmas spirit, theMonnaie de Paris also offers immersive guided tours revealing its collections and history. Visitors can continue the experience with creative workshops, such as making a Christmas medal or a chocolate medal, festive and gourmet activities designed to bring the whole family together.

La Monnaie de Paris is our country's monetary institution. It's here that the coins we use every day are made, and the Musée de la Monnaie takes the opportunity to raise awareness and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the Paris mint. It regularly offers exhibitions, workshops and guided tours, particularly for families.

On the program:

TREASURE HUNTS

  • Treasure hunt: Find Bébert le Lingot and Coco!Tuesday to Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., Wednesdays until 8 p.m. (duration 20 to 30 min)

Go in search of Bébert and his friend Coco, who have gotten lost in the museum's display cases. Once you've found them and taken a photo, return to the ticket office to reunite them: your good deed will be rewarded. Ages 5 and up. Included in the museum tour. 

  • Treasure hunt: Operation M.I.D.A.S.Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., late night opening on Wednesdays until 9 p.m. (duration: 1 hour)

An immersive mission that plunges participants into the secrets of transforming metal into gold at the heart of the Monnaie de Paris. Ages 12 and up. Price: €14

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

  • Create your own bestiaryDecember 20 (3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.), December 24 (11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), December 30 (3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.)

After exploring the real and legendary animals featured in the collections, model your own creature out of clay to create a unique bestiary. Ages 5 and up. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €12

  • Chocolate fondantDecember 31 (11 a.m.–1 p.m.), January 3 (3 p.m.–5 p.m.)

A gourmet workshop where children and adults make a chocolate medal while learning molding, patina, and finishing techniques. Ages 7 and up. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €12

  • Make your own decorationDecember 26 (11 a.m.–1 p.m.)

Learn the art of grand feu enamel to create your own decoration inspired by orders and distinctions. Ages 12 and up. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €14

An introduction to the techniques used in the Monnaie de Paris workshops to create your own medal. A family activity that reveals everyone's artistic talents. Ages 7 and up. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €12

  • From metal to jewelryDecember 23 (11 a.m.–1 p.m.), January 2 (3 p.m.–5 p.m.)

Create a unique piece of jewelry using the grand feu enamel technique: choose your colors, apply the enamel, fire it, polish it... and take your creation home with you. Children aged 10 and over. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €14

  • Toddler tour – Oscar shows you around the museumDecember 27 (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.)

Oscar the coin maker guides young children on a fun and sensory discovery of the museum, full of surprises and first explorations. Ages 2 to 3. Price: €14 (reduced rate: €6)

  • Storytelling tour – Les Bambins touchent le Pactole (The Toddlers Strike Gold) – December 20 (3:00–4:00 p.m.), January 3 (3:00–4:00 p.m.)

A tour punctuated with stories, riddles, and legends to help children understand the history of coins. Ages 5 to 7. Price: €14 (reduced rate: €6)

TOURS FOR ALL AGES AND ADULT WORKSHOPS

An exceptional night tour to discover the workshops, manufacturing secrets, and historic areas that are usually closed to the public.Ages 8 and up. Price: €14 (reduced rate: €6)

Explore the many facets of the Monnaie de Paris: royal palace, factory, museum, trophy workshops, and more. A guided tour to better understand this iconic place. Ages 8 and up. Duration: 1.5 hours. Price: €14 (reduced rate: €6)

  • Introductory workshop for adults on grand feu enamelDecember 27 (11:30 a.m.)

A workshop for adults to discover metalworking techniques and create a pendant, brooch, or bracelet using grand feu enamel. Ages 16 and up. Duration: 2 hours. Price: €25
