When the family grows, it's quite an adventure. Whether during pregnancy or in the first few months of the baby's life, the lives of parents-to-be and young parents can be far from tranquil. That's when it's important to allow yourself moments of relaxation and well-being to bring a little more serenity to everyday life. Whether it's for a baby-shower, a gift with or without an occasion, or simply to treat yourself, here's a concept that just might provide that much-needed relaxation time during this new chapter in your life.
In the heart of the Latin Quarter, an astonishing wellness address awaits Parisians of a day and of all times. Clēmēns is the capital's first aquatic spa, and draws us into an atmosphere of ancient baths with its pools installed beneath historic vaults. Here, you can enjoy so-called terrestrial massages, as well as floating aquatic treatments.
And good news for expectant mothers: the spa also offers a range of treatments for pregnant women. These include the signature floating massage, which we highly recommend;aquatic osteopathy, which relaxes muscles and reduces pain; aquatic sophrology, which uses breathing exercises to help manage stress; andaquatic hypnosis, during which you are placed on a floating bed, which can help prepare you for childbirth.
And when baby arrives, you can enjoy a moment of connection with your child through a specialaquatic experience. According to the spa, this treatment would "promote the sensory and emotional development of infants, while reminding them of the floating sensations of their life in utero." It also adds that "the benefits of this treatment also help to improve sleep and digestion for babies", and it would also participate in the baby's psychomotor awakening.
The treatment takes place in several stages: first, the baby, while still in the arms of his or her parent(s), discovers the pool, whose water is heated to 35°C. The baby is then positioned on his or her stomach and back to gradually get used to the treatment, while the practitioner demonstrates the movements that can help to awaken the child. Then, with the agreement of the baby AND the parents, the practitioner can rock and massage the infant. Afterwards, you can enjoy some one-on-one time with your child, while letting yourself be lulled by the waves.
