On Saturday July 5, the 17th arrondissement town hall is organizing a day where you can slip into the shoes of the Paris firefighters for a few hours.

Have you always dreamed of discovering the daily life of the Paris fire department? In the 17th arrondissement, visit Place Richard Baret in the Batignolles district, from 10.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to get a behind-the-scenes look at this wonderful profession.

Discover a fire truck, take part in siren and fire engine demonstration workshops, admire the large ladder, visit the inside of a fire truck... For budding firefighters: after this day of activities, the firefighting profession will hold no more secrets for you!

On the agenda for this day of discovering the fire department:

  • discovery/guided tour of an emergency truck
  • fun obstacle courses (fire course and large ladder)
  • equipment demonstration and explanation workshops (siren, helmet, engine, fire)
  • souvenir photo booth in front of the truck (with helmet)
  • recruitment stand
  • exhibition of 3 vintage vehicles
  • sale of goodies

The event is entirely free and open to all, with activities aimed at children aged 3 to 12 (under the responsibility of their parents and carers).

And if that's not enough, we can't recommend you miss the magnificent (and comprehensive) Paris Fire Brigade Museum in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine (93), or the open house at your nearest fire station!
