From Vincent Van Gogh 's Starry Night toEdouard Manet's Déjeuner sur l'herbe, via paintings by Claude Monet , Gustave Courbet and Cézanne... The Musée d'Orsay is one of the most famous museums in Paris, and for good reason: it boasts the largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world!
Inaugurated in 1986 on the site of theformer Gare d'Orsay, which was in service at the beginning of the 20th century, it is now listed as a Monument Historique. The station made its mark inthe tragic accident of October 22, 1895, when a locomotive arriving from Granville failed to stop in time and collapsed on the carriageway.
Every vacation season, families can take advantage of Vacances au musée d'Orsay, a complete program of free activities for children, including readings, creative workshops, a participatory fresco, photobooths... To discover with toddlers, children or even teenagers.
