If you're looking for an original exhibition, we invite you to discover the new exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center located on Rue La Boétie, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The venue offers a sensory immersion into the heart of Korean culture with its exhibition Colors of Korea, Spotlight on Contemporary Korean Art. In the midst of Contemporary Art Week in Paris, this free exhibition highlights contemporary Korean creativity and beautifully marks the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea.
On display from October 24, 2025, to August 29, 2026, it brings together 34 Korean artists who explore the strength of colors and their universal power, from traditional painting todigital art. A true chromatic journey that questions our relationship with colors, between collective memory and modernity.
This fine exhibition is the result of collaboration between Korea's National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Némo Biennial, the Fiminco Foundation and some fifteen Korean and French galleries. We particularly appreciate this approach, which brings together different institutions to offer the Parisian public a rich and diverse panorama of contemporary Korean art.
In Korea, five fundamental colors have structured daily and spiritual life for centuries. White, black, red, yellow and blue are associated with the five elements and the principle of yin and yang. These traditional Korean colors embody a singular aesthetic, deeply rooted in the country's culture and history. The exhibition highlights this symbolic richness and invites us to rediscover color not only as an aesthetic concern, but as a truly universal language that conveys meaning and collective memory.
Through the works of 34 artists, we discover an unprecedented panorama of Korean creation, spanning generations and disciplines. Alongside great masters such as LEE Ungno, pioneer of modern abstraction, KIM Tschang-Yeul, famous for his hypnotic paintings of drops of water, and PARK Seo-Bo and HA Chong Hyun, we find contemporary artists in full effervescence. Among them, Yeesookyung, KIM Yunchul, Anicka YI and Jin MEYERSON enrich the art scene with vibrantly colored works and innovative approaches that blend technology and tradition.
Between immersive installations, abstract paintings and digital creations, each work bears witness to a profound research into the meaning of colors and their emotional impact. Come and be surprised by the play of light, subtle contrasts and colorful harmonies that evoke both Korean landscapes and universal questions of identity and memory. Take the time to contemplate and let yourself be carried away by these captivating visual universes.
From December 15, 2025, to February 21, 2026, the Korean Cultural Center is also offering a unique immersive experience dedicated to Korean-American artist Jin Meyerson. A preview will be held on October 24 and 25, 2025, during the opening, so you can discover this installation before everyone else. Born in 1972 in Incheon and based in Seoul, Meyerson marked the revival of New York figurative painting in the 2000s. A pioneer of what he calls Frontier Optics, he combines randomization software and traditional painting to invent a hybrid language between figuration and abstraction. A rather bold approach.
His work explores exile, the Korean diaspora, trauma and reconciliation, while questioning the place of painting in the contemporary era. Presented in the center's auditorium, the installation Once in a Lifetime offers a reflection on memory, time and the new horizons of painting by confronting the human unconscious with the mechanisms of artificial intelligence. This immersive exhibition is also taking place as part of Némo - Biennale internationale des arts numériques de la Région Île-de-France, produced by CENTQUATRE-PARIS, from October 11, 2025 to January 11, 2026 in 24 venues across the Paris region. A great opportunity to discover how digital art reinvents our relationship with color and creation.
This double artistic proposal from the Korean Cultural Center offers a wonderful opportunity to discover the richness ofcontemporary Korean art. Located just a stone's throw from the Miromesnil and Saint-Augustin metro stations, the venue is easily accessible for an enriching cultural visit. Between works by modern masters and immersive installations by contemporary artists, we plunge into a universe where colors become a universal language and tradition dialogues with the most advanced technologies.
The exhibition is free and open to all, fromcontemporary artlovers to those curious to discover Korean culture from an original perspective. The Korean Cultural Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
