Nestled between the Champs-Élysées and the Seine, in the 8ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, the Petit Palais is a municipal museum managed by Paris Musées. Built for the1900 Universal Exhibition, this architectural gem with its neoclassical façade now houses the Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris. Its main mission: to make art accessible to all, free of charge for the permanent collections.

The Petit Palais exhibits a vast panorama of art from Antiquity to the Belle Époque. Here you can admire landmark works such as Jules Dalou's La Madeleine pénitente, canvases by Courbet, Monet and Cézanne, and the elegant portraits of James Tissot. The galleries also reveal a collection of objets d'art, illuminated manuscripts and sculptures, in a luminous setting adorned with mosaics.
