On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2026, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art will inaugurate a new space for artistic experimentation, designed especially for families. Here we go!

What’s on the agenda for Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026, the first weekend of the April holidays? As a family, head to the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, for the inaugural edition of the Joyful Weekend. With this family-friendly event, the Foundation becomes a true space of exploration where kids can discover the artworks in a fresh, engaging way.

Observe, touch, handle... So many fresh ways to introduce contemporary art to little ones through workshops and special mediations. On the agenda? A collaborative workshop to explore weaving on a loom, a communal rest space where you can contribute to a collaborative artwork, linocut printing introductory sessions, a discovery game to explore the Foundation’s flagship works, but above all, a free afternoon snack, and even a concert!

What’s on the menu for Joyeux Weekend 2026:
