What’s on the agenda for Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026, the first weekend of the April holidays? As a family, head to the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, for the inaugural edition of the Joyful Weekend. With this family-friendly event, the Foundation becomes a true space of exploration where kids can discover the artworks in a fresh, engaging way.
Observe, touch, handle... So many fresh ways to introduce contemporary art to little ones through workshops and special mediations. On the agenda? A collaborative workshop to explore weaving on a loom, a communal rest space where you can contribute to a collaborative artwork, linocut printing introductory sessions, a discovery game to explore the Foundation’s flagship works, but above all, a free afternoon snack, and even a concert!
An exploration game through the foundation's body of work.
If you complete a quest with a complete treasure map, you’ll get a snack.
The collective Sieste ensemble offers a shared relaxation experience, including a collaborative mural to draw together, cozy spots to lie down, lullabies and storytelling… For children from age 3.
A playful concert you can discover from birth.
To take part in the activities at Joyful Weekend, you’ll need an exhibition ticket. Expect €15 at full price and €10 at the reduced rate, noting that children under 18 enter for free.
