Extreme music fans can smile. In the summer of 2026, there will still be plenty of musical events dedicated to metal, led by Hellfest in Clisson and Motocultor in Carhaix.
For fans of this musical genre living in the Grand Est region, here's some news to put a smile on your face. Nancy Open Air confirms its return and organizes the third edition of its special metal weekend! Simply named"Heavy Weekend", this festival is once again likely to arouse the curiosity of many metalheads, expected in Maxéville from Friday June 5 to Sunday June 7, 2026.
For three days, several bands and artists will take turns on a single stage, the Zénith du Grand Nancy. And the first headliners have been announced! Gojira is expected at Heavy Week-end on Saturday, June 6, for its "only concert in France" in 2026, according to the announcement. Meanwhile, Sweden's Sabaton will be there on Friday, June 5, kicking off the festival with their power metal tunes. Finally, Germany'sElectric Callboy will close the festival on Sunday, June 7.
And that's not all, asNova Twins, Trivium, Three Days Grace, and the Cavalerabrothers havealso beenannounced, as have Savatage andTobias Sammet's Avantasia. Please note that tickets for the 3-day pass are available at www.heavyweekend.live.
The 2025 edition of Heavy Weekend featured performances by Slipknot, Powerwolf, Dream Theater, Saxon, Mass Hysteria, Europe from Sweden, Battle Beast from Finland, Nothing More from Texas, and Rise of the Northstar from France. In 2024, during the first edition, festival-goers were able to mosh to the hits of Scorpions, Deep Purple, Extreme, Megadeth, Tom Morello, Judas Priest, and Alice Cooper.
In 2026, a new lineup is set to once again electrify the Zenith in Greater Nancy.
