This year, Hellfest is inviting over 180 bands to set the Clisson site alight for 4 consecutive days, from June 19 to 22, 2025. Heavy metal, punk, hardcore, black metal, folk metal and thrash metal from the UK, France, the USA, Italy, Canada and even Mongolia... once again, Hellfest is pulling out all the stops to satisfy everyone's tastes.
While Hellfest offers no less than 6 different stages, some festival-goers have an uncontrollable urge to squat in front of the two Mainstages all day long, in order to attend the shows of the leading artists and bands on the metal scene. Here are 10 must-see, not-to-be-missed bands on the festival's two main stages from June 19 to 22, 2025.
Are you a fan of System of a Down? Then head to Mainstage 2 on Thursday, June 19! At 5.15pm, Seven Hours After Violet will take to the stage to offer festival-goers a healthy dose of nu metal. Behind this American band are bassist Shavo Odadjian (from SOAD), Alejandro Aranda and Taylor Barber from Left to Suffer, and Michael Montoya and Josh Johnson from Winds of Plague. This combo is set to set Mainstage 2 alight on the first day of Hellfest, performing several tracks from their debut opus, released last autumn.
They made their name by dusting off Metallica tracks with their cello. Since then, Apocalyptica has continued to seduce our ears and tour the world. This summer, the Finns are stopping off in Clisson to defend their latest opus,"Plays Metallica Vol. 2", featuring other Four Horsemen classics such as " Ride the Lightning ", " The Unforgiven II ", " The Call of Ktulu " and " One ".
Feel like singing along to " Got the Life ", " Freak on a Leash ", " Falling Away From Me " and " Twist "? Head to Mainstage 1 on Thursday June 19 at 11.30pm. Korn, considered one of the pioneers of nu metal, is back at Hellfest to delight us all! It's a chance to catch up with Jonathan Davis and his band, as they perform their many hits, as powerful as they are timeless. A sure-fire hit to see again and again, without moderation!
They hail from Vancouver Island, in western Canada. Offering a skilful blend of metalcore, post-metal, djent, progressive and alternative metal, Spiritbox return to Hellfest to electrify Mainstage 2 in the late afternoon. Courtney LaPlante and his bandmates are looking forward to creating some wild pogos and circle pits on June 20 with their powerful tunes. The combo released their second studio opus,"Tsunami Sea", last March.
Back in 2023, they were a real eye-catcher and a real sensation. The result? The Temple was overflowing with people, and it was even difficult to make your way under the tent to catch a glimpse of The Hu. In 2025, Hellfest offers them the opportunity to play on Mainstage 1 for their second appearance at the festival. There's no doubt that festival-goers will flock to this large stage to discover The Hu's skilful blend of rock, diphonic vocals and traditional instruments such as the famous " horse-head fiddle ".
Feel like traveling to faraway lands? Then how about a dose of Heilung? The Danish warriors are back at Hellfest, offering a shamanic journey you won't soon forget. A veritable benchmark on the neo-folk scene, Heilung's spellbinding set is sure to surprise and delight!
They're back after an absence of several years! This summer, to the delight of nostalgic fans, Savatage will be at Hellfest for a much-anticipated set. Join Zak Stevens, Al Pitrelli, Chris Caffery, John Lee Middleton and Jeff Plate on Mainstage 2 on June 21. It's an opportunity for the Florida-based combo to revive live their songs, which skilfully blend thrash metal, heavy metal and hard rock. Savatage, who have a dozen opuses to their credit, should take us back in time and offer us a fine musical voyage!
Another band not to be missed on the Mainstage this summer! Do we even need to introduce Judas Priest? Despite a 55-year career, the British band is still in top form. And the voice of charismatic frontman Rob Halford is as powerful and transcendent as ever. Three years after their last visit to Clisson, Judas Priest are back to electrify festival-goers with several of their timeless hits on Saturday night.
Usually, Hellfest festival-goers are less numerous on the site in the morning. But a little birdie tells us that there will still be people in front of Mainstage 1 at around 11am on June 22. And mostly Metallica fans. And for good reason, Bastardane is coming to Clisson for the very first time. If you don't already know, this combo, which mixes sludge and thrash metal with hard rock, features drummer Castor Hetfield, son of Metallica's James Hetfield! So, are you ready to discover this American band, who released their second studio opus"Catatonic Symphony" in May 2024?
Since the return of Linkin Park and the reformation of the American band with new frontwoman Emily Armstrong, fans have been divided. There are those who miss Chester Bennington's voice, and others who welcome this rebirth and the new opus "From Zero". One thing's for sure, Linkin Park have been the talk of the town since their comeback, and they've been putting on one concert after another. Hellfest is the only French festival to welcome Mike Shinoda and his band this summer. So this set on Mainstage 1 is bound to be one not to be missed!
