A not-to-be-missed festival for all lovers of extreme music, Hellfest will once again celebrate hard rock, thrash metal, black metal, heavy metal, doom, dark folk, classic rock and alternative rock over four days and evenings that promise to be as explosive as they are thunderous.
The 2025 edition, to be enjoyed on Thursday June 19, Friday June 20, Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22, offers festival-goers a whole host of musical highlights, including Linkin Park, Within Tempation, Judas Priest, The Hu, Muse, Korn, Cypress Hill and Scorpions! So many bands and artists to see and hear on Mainstages 1 & 2. Hellfest also features four other stages, including the Valley, dedicated to doom, stoner, dark folk and experimental metal!
If you're a fan of these different musical styles, then you're likely to spend a good part of Hellfest in front of the Valley. That's why we've selected 5 bands and artists for you to see this summer in the Valley for the new edition of Hellfest.
It's worth remembering that the Valley has had a new location on the site since 2023. Gone is the marquee nestled near the Altar - Temple duo, and the Valley stage is now set up not far from the Warzone.
Attention stoner, desert rock and doom fans! Norwegians Slomosa are coming to Hellfest this summer for what promises to be a powerful and intoxicating musical experience. Hailing from Bergen, Slomosa have already opened for a number of bands, including King Buffalo, Elder, Alkaline Trio and, more recently, Greenleaf. On June 19, for the first day of the 2025 edition of Hellfest, the Scandinavian quartet's mission is to seduce new ears!
There's sure to be a packed house outside the Valley on June 20 for Pentagram's eagerly-awaited set. Inspired by the legendary band Black Sabbath, but also Blue Cheer, the American band is set to honor"Lightning in a Bottle", its new opus released in 2025, 10 years after"Curious Volume". Still led by Bobby Liebling, the whimsical septuagenarian with the craziest eyes, Pentagram intend to turn the Valley upside down and show that they are and will remain a leading figure on the doom metal scene.
Do you know Messa? If you've never seen them live before, you're bound to fall under the spell of this Italian quartet. With their massive, intoxicating progressive doom, and the bewitching voice of singer Sara, Messa plunges us into a dark, soaring, murky atmosphere that is oh so captivating.
Did you miss them? They're back! The Americans of Kylesa are back on the road after several years' absence. If you're not familiar with this Savannah-based band, led by Laura Pleasants and Phillip Cope, now's your chance to catch up. The combo has released no less than 7 opuses since 2002."Exhausting Fire", released in 2015, is the latest. If you like sludge, crust punk and psychedelia, then head for the Valley on June 22 at 5:45pm!
On Sunday evening, for the final night of the 2025 edition of Hellfest, the festival has invited a legend of the Seattle grunge scene, namely Jerry Cantrell, a key member of Alice in Chains. The American musician, composer and singer is set to defend his latest solo opus,"I Want Blood", live. Released on October 18, 2024, the album features a number of musical nuggets with some fine collaborations (Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan and Greg Puciato). So, are you ready to (re)discover a legend of the grunge scene at Hellfest?
