The town of Montmagny (95) has canceled its Bastille Day celebrations for 2026, including the open-air dance and the fireworks display, due to the heatwave.

The town of Montmagny, in the Val d'Oise celebrates Bastille Day on  13 July 2026. The program features a community dance for everyone and a fireworks display to enjoy from the Charles Grimaud Sports Complex. Don’t miss this free event open to all!

Due to Prefectural Order No. 2026-778 temporarily banning fireworks and pyrotechnic displays, issued after Météo-France placed the Val-d’Oise department under a red heatwave alert from Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 12:00, as is the case for all Île-de-France departments, the July 13 fireworks display has been canceled. For safety and to keep this decision coherent, the accompanying ball has also been canceled. Aware of the disappointment this may cause, the City announces that the fireworks will be rescheduled for a later date and will be announced as soon as conditions permit a safe organization.

Situated between Sarcelles, Enghien-les-Bains and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, the commune is part of the Montmorency valley. Here, vestiges of the past can be found, dating back to prehistoric times. Today, this rich history can be seen in various buildings and monuments, including churches, the chapel of Sainte-Thérèse, the former seminary...

Next July, Montmagny pays tribute to the Revolutionaries. Like many towns across France, the national holiday is celebrated to mark the storming of the Bastille, and the fall of the royal power. This date signals the birth of the Republic in France, and a fairer and more egalitarian society. The custom has it that July 14 is celebrated with dances and fireworks. A tradition well observed in Montmagny, but the eve the night before, July 13, 2026!
