Bastille Day 2026 in Villejuif (94): Fireworks and public dance canceled.

Because of the extreme heat and a high risk of fire in the Hautes-Bruyères regional park, the town has decided to cancel Bastille Day celebrations planned for this Monday, July 13. The public dance and the fireworks display are called off. A community gathering will be scheduled for the start of the new school year, once the weather has become more favorable.

The 14 July is the moment for the French to come together around popular festivities that mark this public holiday. Across the country, towns and villages host concerts, activities, community dances and convivial gatherings that draw locals and visitors into a festive atmosphere.

In Paris and across the regions, celebrations typically carry on into the night with the traditional fireworks. The military parade on the Champs-Élysées, the firefighters' balls and the outdoor shows are also among the marquee events of this national holiday, one of the year’s most anticipated.

In Villejuif, the National Holiday celebrations unfold on July 13, 2026, throughout the evening. Once again this year, the gathering point is at the Hautes-Bruyères departmental Park!
