National Day 2026: the Fête du Carré cancels its fireworks and drone display

The 2026 Bastille Day program at Carré Sénart is fully cancelled. The drone and pyrotechnics show scheduled for July 14 at Grand Paris Sud, along with the other announced activities, have been scrapped due to the extreme heat and the restrictions imposed by the current prefectural order.

ATTENTION : due to the intense heat and in accordance with a prefectural order, the Fête du Carré is canceled outright. No fireworks or drone shows will take place.

As July settles in with long evenings, the Île-de-France region regains that festive vibe that signals holidays, reunions and outdoor gatherings. For the 14 July celebrations, towns and major gathering spots come together to mark the National Day in a lively, family-friendly, summery atmosphere. At the Carré Sénart, this rendezvous sits at the heart of Grand Paris Sud, in an area that has become one of the southeast Île-de-France’s major meeting points. Here, the celebration unfolds under an open sky, with locals, visitors and the curious sharing a collective moment before lifting their eyes to the night for the fireworks.

While the Carré Sénart is today known for its shopping center, its leisure facilities and its many events, its history is much younger than that of the surrounding towns. The area emerged in the 1970s with the creation of the new town of Sénart, conceived to support the growth of southeast Île-de-France. Since then, this territory has become one of the main hubs of Grand Paris Sud, blending shops, cultural spaces, offices, housing and living spaces. Over the years, Carré Sénart has established itself as the vibrant heart of this metropolis, regularly hosting public events that bring together local residents.

Easily accessible from Paris via the A5 and the Francilienne (N104), Carré Sénart is also served by the RER D and R, with bus connections to the site from Lieusaint–Moissy or Combs-la-Ville–Quincy stations. Arrive a little before showtime to take advantage of the surroundings: the Carré Sénart shopping centre and its many stores, the the Théâtre-Sénart, a renowned national-stage venue, or the green spaces of Grand Paris Sud invite you to extend the outing. A great opportunity to spend the day onsite before wrapping up the evening with an aerial performance.
