Attending the traditional July 14 parade on the Champs-Élysées will require a bit more planning this year. According to information from our colleagues at Le Parisien, a online pre-registration is being put in place for those who want to access the sides of the military parade held for the National Day 2026.

So far, public access has already been subject to security checks at the various entry points of the site. Spectators were required to go through bag checks before reaching the areas open to the public. For this 2026 edition, the setup changes with the introduction of mandatory registration via the dedicated site of the Elysée, a first for the event.

According to Le Parisien, the move stems from a delicate diplomatic backdrop. The expected presence of numerous heads of state and foreign delegations has prompted authorities to tighten entry requirements in order to better regulate visitor flows and security arrangements.
