Witnessing the traditional July 14 parade on the Champs-Élysées almost required a touch more foresight than usual this year. An online pre-registration was put in place for those wishing to access the vicinity of the military parade organized for the National Holiday 2026.
So far, public access has already involved security screenings at the various entry points of the site. Spectators were required to undergo bag checks before reaching the areas open to the public. For this 2026 edition, the plan nearly changed with the addition of a mandatory registration via the Élysée site, a first for the event. Ultimately, by court order, this measure was struck down.

This edition of the Fête nationale also has another peculiarity. The traditional fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower will not be shot on the evening of July 14, but exceptionally on July 13, 2026.
