National Day 2026 in Draveil (91): fireworks display and festive evening postponed from July 13

Because of the fire risk and a prefectural order, the town of Draveil announces the postponement of the July 13 fireworks display and festive evening to Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Due to the heatwave and drought, and following a prefectural decree prohibiting fireworks until July 15 inclusive, the City of Draveil postpones its fireworks display as well as the entire festive evening originally planned for July 13.

"So that everyone can make the most of this event, the evening will be rescheduled for Saturday, August 29, to coincide with the Back-to-School Festival", the municipality announced.

The National Day is one of the summer’s biggest moments in France. Celebrated around July 14, it’s synonymous with fireworks, public dances and other traditional festivities honoring the homeland. Each year, the whole country is in a festive mood, delighting both French people and visitors.

The capital will of course be the center of attention, with its traditional military parade and famous fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower. Many other towns and cities in the Paris region are also taking part in the festivities, unveiling a festive program on July 13 and 14.

And why not seize the chance to embark on a conquest of the Île-de-France region ? This time, we’re taking you to the Essonne, to Draveil. Located 20 kilometers southeast of Paris, it’s a lovely town steeped in history, with a vibrant environmental and architectural heritage.

On either side of the commune, the banks of the Seine and the Forêt de Sénart offer beautiful places to stroll, while on the town side, you'll find some of Essonne's heritage treasures, including the Château des Bergeries, the Château de Villiers and the country house of painter Eugène Delacroix.

Plenty to keep you busy while you wait to enjoy the festivities of the National Day in the town of Draveil, which, again this year, are taking place at the Port aux Cerises leisure island.
