France's traditional Fête Nationale military parade returns to the Champs-Elysées avenue in Paris on Friday July 14, 2023. Here is the detailed program.

Every year, to celebrate France's national holiday, a military parade takes place on theChamps-Elysées avenue in Paris. This year, on Friday morning, July 14, 2023, you're invited to attend this not-to-be-missed event. Last year, no fewer than 6,300 soldiers on foot, 71 aircraft, 25 helicopters, 221 vehicles and 200 horses from the Republican Guard took to the world's most beautiful avenue!

So, what's on the agenda for the July 14, 2023military parade in Paris? Last year, the theme "Sharing the Flame" paid tribute both to the flame of the Resistance, embodied by Hubert Germain, the last Companion of the Liberation who will die in October 2021, and to the Olympic Flame, as the capital will host the Olympic Games in 2024.

This year, the military governor of Paris (GMP), General Christophe Abad, announced at the press conference that the military parade for the Fête Nationale 2023 in Paris will aim to "remind us of our attachment to strategic solidarity with our allies" .

As a result, 15 of France's allies in the military intervention in the Sahel will be honored on an initial board. Among these allies, France has chosen to highlight India, which is the guest of honor at this military parade.

The Patrouille de France will also make its traditional appearance, marking the 70th anniversary of this air fleet. It will precede the passage of foreign aircraft including the British Typhoon, the Belgian F-16 and the Indian Rafale. For the first time, the Serval light armored vehicle will also join the parade.

As a finale, on the Place de la Concorde, young reservists from the SNU (Universal National Service) and civic service programs will pay tribute to the Resistance, commemorating in turn the creation of the French Resistance Medal, the death of Jean Moulin, the creation of the National Council of the Resistance, and the creation of the "Chant des partisans".

Here's the detailed schedule for the morning:

  • 9:30 am: end of the deployment of foot and motorized troops on the Étoile/Champs-Élysées site. Inspection of the troops by the general officers commanding the foot and motorized parades.
  • 9.45am: end of Republican Guard honor detachments in Place Charles-de-Gaulle and Place de la Concorde.

There arethree special features this year.
