This year again, the city of Malakoff is marking Bastille Day 2026 in style! But as in many Île-de-France towns, the Hauts-de-Seine commune has chosen to celebrate on the eve rather than on the actual day. Don’t get the date wrong! Make your way to Malakoff on July 13, 2026 for a packed line-up of festivities!
What's on the program? A rock aperitif, concerts in the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, the traditional fireworks display, and, of course, a popular ball to dance the night away with friends and family - all free of charge, as usual!
Note that after the fireworks and the dance, the City of Malakoff is launching a free shuttle service. Those returning to Barbusse, Stalingrad, and Valette can catch a complimentary shuttle, running continuously from 11:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Departures from 25, rue Béranger.
Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6:30 p.m., the Grand bal pop' invites you to the place du 11-Novembre-1918 to celebrate the National Day! Concerts, animations, fireworks and a public dance will pace this big festive evening open to everyone. Here’s a glimpse of the program.
Apéropop'. Festivities kick off at 6:30 pm with a wildly entertaining musical aperitif led by Julo Bocher, the roaming disco-man from Malakoff. Savor a pop playlist woven through delirious blind tests, perched on one of the terraces of the square’s partner cafés (Brasserie de la Place, Brasserie L'Hirondelle, Brasserie de l’Hôtel de Ville, and L’Herbe Rouge). Laughter and gifts are on the cards! Under the market hall, drinks, pizzas, and world flavors—plus the famed Martinez ice creams and sorbets—will accompany the start of this beautiful summer evening.
Free concerts. For this 2026 edition of the Grand bal pop', francophone pop takes center stage:
Pi Ja Ma opens the show. At 8 p.m., the singer Pi Ja Ma will kick off the evening with her intimate and luminous sound. Having emerged notably at the Francofolies 2017, the artist crafts inventive pop that resonates with a broad audience.
Vendredi sur Mer is on the bill. At 9 p.m., the stage lights up for Vendredi sur Mer's big concert! Between retro synths, chic electro, and laid-back poetry, the artist has cultivated a universe that is both glamorous and utterly modern. Her soft voice frontlines blurred loves, desires, and urban vertigo with an ultra-contemporary nonchalance. Since her hit Écoute Chérie, which quickly became a cult classic, she has been riding a wave of hits and refined collaborations.
Fireworks. At 11 p.m., look up to catch the highlight of the evening: the grand fireworks display! This year, the pyrotechnic show will be synchronized to a decidedly pop soundtrack!
Bal populaire. At 11:30 p.m., the celebration keeps going with the Grand Pop Ball. The Carmen Orchestra, a group of conservatory instructors, revisits the biggest international pop-rock standards to get all generations dancing.
