It's an event the French love to return to every year! Every year in mid-July, the Fête Nationale is celebrated throughout France, as a way of celebrating our attachment to the Republic and its values of liberty, equality and fraternity.

There's no shortage of events to mark the occasion, including firemen's balls in the barracks, the military parade on the Champs-Élysées, and the symphony concert on the Champ-de-Mars, not to mention the fireworks that sparkle in the sky on July 13 and 14.

Every year, many Parisians try to get as close as possible to the Eiffel Tower to admire the traditional fireworks display. Elsewhere in the Île-de-France region, there's no shortage of fireworks displays, as in Seine-et-Marne. On July 13, 2023, for example, the town of Melun will be staging a fireworks display from the swimming pool parking lot, visible from the banks of the Seine on the Promenade de Vaux. The fireworks show will be preceded by a guinguette on Place Praslin. Here's the program!

Fête nationale 2023 in Melun, the program

ATTENTION: The event is CANCELLED for 2023 except for the commemoration at the war memorial.

Join us in Melun on July 13, 2023 from 7pm to 1am to celebrate the Fête nationale in style! Enjoy the guinguette on Place Praslin, followed by fireworks from the pool parking lot, visible from the banks of the Seine on Promenade de Vaux.

• 7:00 pm: come and enjoy the many activities: Grand bi demonstrations, workshops and games for children, licence-free boat hire, and much more...
• 8:00 p.m.: the Bal des coquins for 2-8 year-olds will offer your children an unforgettable evening of gesticulating songs, polka, farandole and ronde.
• 9:00 pm: the Love Boat will take you on a cruise to the frenetic rhythms of the great jazz standards, as well as mambo, swing, rock, rhythm' and blues and Latin American rhythms.
• 11:00 p.m.: Fireworks from the pool parking lot. It will be visible from the banks of the Seine, on the Promenade de Vaux.
• The evening continues on Place Praslin with a DJ until 1am.
