In Sèvres (92), the Christmas lights will have a feline edge on Friday, December 4, 2026! The Festival of Lights is back for an evening dedicated to cats, with festive parades and the town lighting up as night falls.

After flowers, claws! In Sèvres, in the Hauts-de-Seine (92), the traditional Festival of Lights is changing its stripes for its 2026 edition. On Friday, December 4, the city is inviting residents to head out at nightfall to celebrate the start of the Christmas festivities, with a theme full of character: felines. While the date and theme of this new edition are already known, the town council is still keeping much of the programme under wraps. We know the evening will feature plenty of lights and street processions through Sèvres, but the shows and exact timings have yet to be revealed.

While we wait, a quick look back shows just how much this celebration has to offer! In 2025, residents of Sèvres were invited to gather from 6:30 p.m. for a grand torchlight procession through the neighborhoods. Equipped with glow sticks and accompanied by brass bands, young and old made their way to City Hall for a musical welcome, with hot chocolate and mulled wine.

At 8 p.m., spectators then discovered a monumental video mapping projection on the façade of City Hall, dedicated to flowers. Vases, petals, butterflies and golden fireflies transformed the building into a living painting, before giving way to the show Minuscules by the Remue-Ménage company. The finale featured light dances, music, acrobatics and fire juggling on the Charles-de-Gaulle plaza.

A lovely glimpse of the spirit of the Festival of Lights, although these activities are part of the 2025 edition. We’ll therefore have to wait for the next announcements from the city to find out the route, times and any registration requirements for this new evening.

One thing is certain: on December 4, 2026, Sèvres will light up to welcome Christmas. And this year, the cats have chosen their time to come out!
