Easter Egg Hunts and Family Activities at Château de Breteuil (78) in 2026

They never fail to take us straight back to childhood: the Château de Breteuil, affectionately known as the "Palace of Perrault's Fairy Tales," has inspired many of the famous stories authored by the writer—think Bluebeard, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots... During the Easter weekend 2026, the site will host several massive egg hunts on Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6, 2026.

The detailed program for this year's Easter celebration hasn't been finalized yet, but typically, the event unfolds as follows: In the wooded areas of the castle grounds, one zone is dedicated to toddler treasure hunts (children under 6), while another is designated for older kids aged 6 and up. Last year, 15,000 eggs were hidden across the two hectares of the woodland at the estate: the egg hunt at Breteuil Castle was more than just a game—it was an adventure, a challenge reminiscent of noble knights in fairy tales! Each child had to find a certain number of colored eggs to earn their reward: a handful of chocolate eggs.

Four major egg hunts take place every day: at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.. But the fun doesn't stop there — a host of activities await you at the heart of the castle after the hunts!

During these two spring days, visitors can enjoy free tours of the castle, sound and light storytelling scenes scattered around the park, not forgetting the labyrinth andchildren's play area, open all day long.
