Looking for the best artisan chocolates in Paris that combine quality and affordability? We're off to the Pleincœur bakery-patisserie and chocolaterie , which for Easter 2025 is unveiling its first chocolate collection in its own image: sincere, generous and deeply rooted in the family terroir.
In their Batignolles boutique, Maxime Frédéric and his family take us on a gourmet journey to the heart of the Normandy family farm, with a collection inspired by the animals that populate their daily lives: chickens, sheep, rabbits, squirrels... So many familiar figures fashioned in antique molds for creations that combine pastry-making expertise and family attachment. The experience is like an Easter stroll between childhood memories and the pleasure of the senses.
One of the highlights of this collection is the Écrin Noisette, a gourmet trompe-l'œil filled with praline and coated hazelnuts, born of a friendship with another family at heart: Laurent, Sophie, Yannick and Christine. Priced at €55, this jewel case embodies a transmission of values as much as a passion for taste. From the praline-filled shell to the crunchy, low-sugar hazelnuts, this generously garnished hazelnut is a delight.
Equally touching, the Mouton de Pâques (€21) hides little airy marshmallows at its heart, a nod to the sweet pleasures of childhood.
Among the must-have Easter eggs, the Poule de Pâques is available in several formats: small (€8.50), medium (€21), large (€35) and the Big Poulette (€90 ), which conceals two chicks filled with hazelnut praline and caramelized hazelnuts. A mischievous way of revisiting the tradition of hidden eggs. We continue our journey with the Easter Squirrel (€21), all dark chocolate and crunchy hazelnuts, or the more classic but still effective Rabbit( €8.50).
Lovers of flaky praliné will be seduced by the blond caramel eggs (€8.50 to €35 depending on format), while the orchard eggs, sold in cases from €6 to €22, pay tribute to the hens on their farm: Coco (Poule de Bresse), Buckwheat (Araucana), Pistachio (Kaki), Corn (Gournay), Hazelnut (Marans), Chocolate (Ayam Cemani). A bucolic wink to discover with a touch of curiosity.
Finally, three gourmet baskets - Marina's Basket (€51.50), Rania's Basket (€59 ) and Alice's Basket (€96.30) - allow you to offer or share a selection of these delights in a spirit of conviviality and sharing. The Pleincœur boutique, nestled in the heart of the 17th arrondissement, is a must for anyone wishing to celebrate Easter with elegance, emotion and gourmandise.
And while you're at it, you might as well try our new springtime pastries. We fell for the strawberry tartelette, crisp and richly garnished with seasonal strawberries. We also fell for the raspberry charlotte, with its crunchy cookie and runny pistachio praline center. Beware, it's addictive.
These Easter creations are aimed at those in search of fine artisanal chocolates made with good farm produce. Note that Maxime Frédéric also unveils some very fine creations at Cheval Blanc and Louis Vuitton. Here, however, the format is more accessible to all.
