But how do you choose THE galette that will delight the greatest number of people? Every year, competitions to find the best almond galette take place across the Paris region. While we wait for the galette des rois season to begin, why not discover the results of the competition organized by the Essonne Chamber of Trades and Crafts? At the end of each year, a jury meets to select the best almond galette in the department.
After tasting and comparing numerous galettes, the jury announced its winners on November 24, awarding the prize to a bakery located in Athis-Mons. For those with a sweet tooth, the bakery-pastry shop "Les Petits Gourmands" is the place to go in 2026 to enjoy the best almond galette in Essonne!Stéphane Guichardwon the competition in the " Business Leaders " category thanks to his crispy and delicious galette. He was followed by Jérémy Leygue from the "Pain Sucré" bakery and pastry shop in Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil, thenLéonardo Degroux from the "La Gourmandise" bakery and pastry shop in Wissous.
In the "Employees" category, Imed Bouabidifrom the "L'Artisan" bakery and pastry shop in Viry-Châtillon took first place on the podium. Finally, in the " Apprentices " category, Tristan Bideau from the "Les Petits Gourmands" bakery and pastry shop in Athis-Mons won first prize.
