Heritage Days 2022 at the Mexican Embassy in Paris

Nestled between the Galliera Palace and the Trocadéro Gardens, the Mexican Embassy stands out as a true gem of Art Deco architecture in Paris. Built in 1927, this historic building will open its doors to visitors free of charge on September 17 and 18, 2022, in celebration of the 39th Heritage Days. Don’t miss the chance to explore this normally off-limits site and immerse yourself in the Mexican culture showcased during this special weekend.

The private mansion that houses the Mexican embassy has a truly unique history. Unlike many of its counterparts, this embassy was specifically designed and customized to accommodate Mexican representatives in France. In 1926, Mexico purchased the mansion from the Duchess of Luynes. Major renovations were undertaken to adapt the residence, giving it a distinctive Art Deco style while paying tribute to Mexico.

This is why you can admire a Mexican eagle on the building's facade, along with its elegant salons and interior decor that reflect the tastes of the 1920s ambassador, Alberto Pani.
