Dedicated to the Russian-born sculptor Ossip Zadkine, the Musée Zadkine is housed in the artist's former studio in Paris's 6th arrondissement. As part of the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 in Paris, the museum will be opening its doors to the curious on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, with a program to suit all tastes.
From wood and stone sculptures to drawings and sketches, the Musée Zadkine presents a variety of works that reveal the evolution of Zadkine's artistic style, from early works marked by Cubism to the more organic, abstract sculptures of his later period.
Outside, the museum's magnificent, verdant garden and its peaceful atmosphere are enhanced by monumental sculptures to be admired in the open air, under the great blue skies of Paris. The Journées du Patrimoine 2025 are an opportunity to discover the work of a talented artist and to plunge into the history of art, through the prism of his creative genius.

Flash visits by Ecole du Louvre students at talking points through the collections from 10 am to 2 pm

In partnership with the Ecole du Louvre
-------------------------------------
Ecole du Louvre students, stationed throughout the Zadkine museum, offer flash visits and selected zooms into the life and work of sculptor Ossip Zadkine and painter Valentine Prax, who spent almost forty years together, from 1928 to 1967, in the house, studios and garden at 100 bis, rue d'Assas.
This place, a discreet haven of peace in the heart of Montparnasse, became the Musée Zadkine in 1982, thanks to a bequest made to the City of Paris by Valentine Prax. The Musée Zadkine is thus one of the few studios that bear witness to the heyday of Montparnasse to be open to the public today. The collections are displayed chronologically, presenting the sculptor's emblematic works and tracing his career from his beginnings in the cosmopolitan Paris of the avant-garde to his international acclaim in the 1950s and 1960s. A room in the exhibition is also devoted to the paintings of Valentine Prax.
### Discovering the cyanotype
### Family workshop from age 6
Cyanotype is an ancient photographic process that produces an intense blue photographic print. The technique was perfected in 1842 by English scientist and astronomer J.F.W Herschel.
So, like Zadkine, who let himself be guided by chance discoveries in his garden and by the emergence of forms in nature, let's discover how to tame the cyanotype technique to create a magnificent cyan-blue herbarium or a unique photo of one of the museum's sculptures.
This workshop, run by Les Inventeurs at the Musée Zadkine, introduces us to this intriguing process that inspired the fathers of modern photography. The intense colors of the resulting prints evoke encyclopedic engravings or unreal, dreamlike images...
All the resulting works will be unique, poetic and touching!
This workshop is run by Les Inventeurs, founders of a space dedicated to creation and fabrication for adults, teenagers and children aged 4 and over, depending on the workshop! Their aim? To encourage the desire to learn and to "do it yourself".
