The Journées du Patrimoine is one of those not-to-be-missed events in September in Paris and the surrounding region. Celebrating its 42nd edition this year, this cultural event invites us to discover the treasures of our heritage in a new light, through visits that are often free of charge, as well as original activities and workshops in museums, monuments, châteaux and other cultural venues. For the occasion, places usually closed to the public even open their doors exceptionally to reveal their secrets. As you can see, the Journées du Patrimoine is the cultural event to take advantage of!
It's also a great opportunity to explore the region's heritage! Yes, the rest of the Île-de-France region around Paris is full of amazing treasures. This time, we're heading for Savigny-le-Temple in the Seine-et-Marne region, where you'll find the Grange-la-Prévoté estate, built on an ancient medieval stronghold and designated as a heritage site of regional interest. The 13-hectare estate is home to the Château de la Grange. On the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, a special program awaits you on the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days).
A lively celebration of the centenary of the last edition of the Vilmorin-Andrieux guide "Les Plantes Potagères" at the Domaine de la Grange - la Prévôté.
1. In the vegetable garden: cultivation of varieties and species mentioned in the book;
2. In the château: presentation of reproductions of Vilmorin watercolours, garden tools and documents from the 1920s.
Sound and light show: "Memories of a mouse".
The story of the Château de la Grange-la-Prévôté as told by the little Tagada mouse.
Tagada, the little mouse, is a very special chatelaine: she gallops across the attic floor, constantly running behind the partitions, on the lookout for any information. Come and listen to the story of this magnificent castle, handed down from generation to generation by her ancestors. The story begins almost 300 years ago...https://youtu.be/r0LiddkQgCA
