The Journées du Patrimoine are a not-to-be-missed event for the curious and the passionate. Over the course of an exceptional weekend, our most beautiful treasures open their doors to you, inviting you to discover them from a whole new angle through an original program.
Every year, Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region take part in this ball of visits, often free of charge, events and workshops for young and old in museums, monuments, châteaux and even places usually closed to the public. As you'll have gathered, this is a rare opportunity to take advantage of as many cultural highlights as possible and discover the Paris region from every angle.
Among the jewels of Parisian heritage are, of course, the churches. In Paris, these places of worship bear witness to the different eras through which the capital has passed, through the evolution of their architecture. And just as well, since churches are also taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine. In the 8tharrondissement, thechurch of Saint-Philippe du Roule, not far from the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, has been listed as a historic monument since 1993.
Since its unveiling at the end of the 18th century, it has showcased neoclassical architecture that passersby can admire from the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Curious to learn more? Here is the program for the upcoming edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, the weekend of 19–20 September 2026.
